Two Peas in a Pod

Saturday afternoon I decided to soak in the tub for a few minutes to see if I could help relax some muscles in my neck that were causing a migraine. This is what I found when I got out..

Unfortunately we do not have a top of the line camera to show one small detail... the drool coming out of Jon's mouth as he peacefully catches some Z's. This is the first time I have ever seen Jon drool in all of the years we dated and since we've been married. I guess there's a first time for everything!

It's gone by way too fast!

Addison is now nearly 4 1/2 months old. I cannot believe it! Time goes by much slower when you're pregnant.
4 month stats:
Weight: 16 lbs 13 oz (96th percentile)
Height: 25 1/2 inches (87th percentile)
Head Circumference: 43.5 (96th percentile)
Equals: one tall, chunky, happy, healthy, adorable little girl.
Isn't that the sweetest face you have ever seen!

Bath time with Dad: Her face says it all. She absolutely adores Jon.

First feeding from a spoon: Rice cereal. Yuck!
We have given her rice cereal a couple of times now, but I don't think she's quite ready for it. We're going to wait a few weeks and try again. Next time, I think it would be a good idea to feed her without her jammies on. What a mess!

Saydee wanted some. Addison was happy to share. She loves Saydee. She could sit and watch her play all day, giggling the whole time.

Addison's 4 Month Milestones:
  • She is rolling over from tummy to back on a more consistent basis.
  • She laughs frequently. That sound is music to my ears! I love it.
  • She loves to tell stories to anyone who will listen.
  • She is sleeping 9 to 10 hours every night. I cannot tell you what a blessing this is.
  • She is awake most of the day, only taking 2 or 3 decent naps.
  • She can hold things on her own.
  • She can put her Binky in her mouth. I'm not sure if this is a skill yet, or just luck.
  • She loves story time before bed. She holds the book, with some help, and touches the pictures.
  • This girl will not sit down. She wants to stand up all of the time.
  • She slowly nudges her way across the floor. She's not crawling, more like scooting.
  • She is drinking 6 oz every feeding.
  • She still fits in her 3 to 6 month clothes, but is also wearing her 6 to 9 month outfits.
  • She likes to help hold her bottle when she eats.
  • She is always trying to sit up when she is lying on her back.
  • She has a very sweet temperament as long as she has food in her tummy and gets her beauty sleep. What a doll! We love her so much.

Hogle Zoo with the Bingham Fam

On Saturday, we went with the Bingham Family to the Zoo. Addison wasn't very interested, but our Nephew, Will, was lovin' it! Isn't he the cutest thing you have ever seen!

The new baby giraff. It was so cute!

Jon & I hanging out with the giraff's. Addison doing what she did the whole time...sleeping!

Cute little Will kindly cooling everyone off and enjoying every second.

Angie, Kathy, Ry, Dawn, Will, and Jess. As you can see, we couldn't resist getting ourselves a snow cone. Yummy!

The black bears playing.

This was my favorite part of the entire day. If you look closely, you can see the baby elephant nursing. Right before this, the baby elephant was sound asleep on the other side of their pen. It woke up and awkwardly ran over to its mom. The mom snuggled it in with her trunk and then the baby started eating. It was the sweetest thing.

The grandkids. Look at how chunky Addison has gotten. Too cute!

Ry, Dawn, and Will.

Sweet Addy kickin' back and enjoying the ride.

Heavenly Father, please bless me to...

We blessed Addison on September 6th, 2009. It was a great day filled with family, friends, and tasty food. She was great during the blessing and didn't even make a peep. She was really fussy all morning and I thought for sure the blessing would be no different. I was pleasantly surprised when Addy lay there peacefully while Uncle Ryan blessed her. She looked beautiful!
The happy family.

Look what I can do!

Reach for my toys....

Blow Bubbles...

Follow Mr. Monkey with my eyes....

Sit up in my Bumbo all by myself...

Lift my head up...

Make Saydee jealous...

Other fun things about Addison...
1. She loves being outside.
2. She is a morning person.
3. She talks a lot.
4. She smiles all of the time.
5. She hates her carseat.
6. She sleeps with her eyes open a little bit, just like dad. (Kind of creepy if you ask me).
And last, but not least, she already knows how to show the "peace" sign...

Peace Out!

Windows

So I came across this little saying the other day and just had to laugh...

They say that when a door closes, a window opens. Well there have been a lot of doors shutting lately & I'm having a hard time finding those darn windows!

Ouch!

Addison had her two month check up today and that meant that it was time for her immunizations. She had to get three shots in her thigh. Jon came with me to the appointment today and he was kind enough to be the one who held her legs down while they gave her the injections. It broke my heart to watch! The poor little thing was smiling one minute and screaming at the top of her lungs the next! She was pretty brave though ... she only cried while they gave her the injections. As soon as they finished, I picked her up and she stopped. Then she just laid her head down on my shoulder and didn't move a muscle the rest of the time that we were at the doctors office. I think she was scared she was going to get attacked again.
Before....

After....
